Cerebra
Cerebra is an NGO from Banja Luka, northern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was established by young people for young people.
“Cerebra†mainly works with youth although its target groups are older adults too. We organise seminars to provide opportunities for the youth to learn skills that are required on the labour market, we provide opportunities to our members to travel around the region and elsewhere in Europe. We believe that acquiring modern/transferable skills and gaining experience from their peers are the most important elements for one’s development in our rapidly changing world. Our activities are predominantly aimed at educational programmes and travelling opportunities.
In accomplishing its goals Cerebra especially works on:
- Promotion of positive values of civil society including respect of basic democratic principles, rule of law and protection of basic human rights;
- Promotion of larger citizens’ participation in developing local community, local administration and regional initiatives;
- Reinforcing voluntary work;
- Promotion of modern educational principles including life-long learning, vocational training, on line education and additional qualifications;
- Creating fertile grounds for employment, in particular young people;
- Organising courses, seminars, conferences, conventions and similar events that can be useful for young people and other citizens;
- Promotion of self-sustainable development through cooperation between private, public and non-governmental sector;
- Encouraging and fostering cooperation with similar organisations in-country and abroad;
- Confronting stereotypes and prejudice;
- Raising awareness about the importance of human and natural resources strategic management;
- Raising awareness about environment protection;
- Improving the status of young people and other citizens;
- Encouraging economic development and additional involvement of young people;
- Promoting and developing the knowledge society and information technologies;
- Encouraging entrepreneurship, in particular among young people;
- Empowering women in our society;
- Promotion of culture and sports.

We welcome all young, ambitious and enthusiastic people who are happy to
dedicate some of their time to our activities, learn and exchange experience
with us. Don’t hesitate to join us or ask any questions. We will be happy to
answer any queries.
According to Cerebra’s Statute:
Any natural person willing to accept principles of Cerebra both from B&H
or other countries is eligible for membership.
Any legal person willing to accept principles of Cerebra both from B&H or
other countries that deals with issues of education, employment, economy,
culture and sports is eligible for partnership.
Cerebra has full-member and associate members.
Every member of Cerebra has equal rights regardless of his/her ethnic,
religious or political affiliation. These rights cannot be restricted, unless
otherwise specified by the law.
By joining Cerebra membership, member gains rights and obligations defined by
the Statute.
The rights and obligations of members are:
- to elect and be elected into bodies of Cerebra,
- to give suggestions, opinions and remarks on the work of the bodies, and to
be informed about adopted decisions,
- to be informed about the activities of Cerebra and its bodies,
- to participate in accomplishing of the goals,
- to refrain from self-initiated acts that may harm the reputation of
Cerebra,
- to pay their membership dues in a timely manner.
